0As a part of the Every Kid in a Park program, fourth graders and their families in the US can receive a free national parks pass. President Barack Obama created this program to help encourage family recreation and allow fourth graders and their families to discover our wildlife, resources and history for free! Fourth grade also happens to be the year that many kids learn about their state in school. What better way to learn about your state than by planning trips to the national parks near you?
A world of adventure awaits at the U.S. National Parks. See stunning examples of natural beauty and delve deep into the history of our nation. We also love the national park passport book program and started one for Miss C this past summer. Visiting national parks is our favorite way to break up long road trips across the US. Collecting the passport stamps is also fun and a free souvenir of your trip once you purchase the book.
Visit the Every Kid in a Park website to print a free pass for your child. Make sure to take the pass with you when you visit. At many of the parks, it also includes free admission for your entire family!
You can also print up to 50 passes at a time if you are an educator of fourth graders, including civic and religious organization leaders, and home-school parents. Visit the educator page to learn more about printing passes for the kids you work with.
